Fakin’ It

Used this for what turned out to be my interview for the course. I wrote this using the Roland V-drums, a moog style bass off a plug-in. EVP88 keys and Eva’s tenor sax samples she gave me a year earlier. I think it was every note in the scale of C, short notes only nothing sustained. Lots of compression reverb and probably equalisation. I quantised the bass and drums and left the rest to sit on top. The idea was that here was a band playing live with the sax as band leader.

War Poem Dub

Made using kitchen utensils & firewood recorded on the cheapest plastic Realistic microphone and a Sly & Robbie sample all twisted up in an Electribe ES-1. Maybe something else too, the horns, possibly from the Dark Star soundtrack, I cant remember. It was 8 years ago.
